Joy Electric make synth-pop to glorify Christ on this cd. The joyous songs on Christiansongs are performed exclusively on old-school analog synthesizers, vocoders. It's an exceptionally effective formula and the retro elements are handled with unironic, straightforward simplicity. All of songs give praise and the majority are based on passages from scripture. The beautiful, fast-paced "Lift up Your Hearts," for instance, is based on Timothy 6:12 and concludes with the lyrics: Are they ashamed to bear the name When all the while they fool themselves With fake acclaim they never get."

"Make My Life a Prayer" is a Keith Green's song played originally by Melody Green.

I think this record is so nice, but Joy Electric is not a 100% christian in their discography (1994-2009). They're not in devotion all the time. Well, but you can praise the Lord with this work.
